Mark as Useful I received a call from the heavy indian accent who stated he was an officer with the law and investigation unit. States that the government placed my social security number on hold, and that a lawsuit is being filed against me. He stated my address. I tried returning call, but it rang then went to a voice mail (noname on machine) stated box was full

Mark as Useful We have just rec'd that same call and message on our land line. The message was "Hello, as a preferred customer of Air Canada, you have received a special gift. Press 1 to accept".
We are NOT a "preferred customer of Air Canada" and I don't see how they got our home number, and I certainly will not press 1 or any other number because I cannot be sure that, by doing so, I am not actually giving someone permission to bill collect or long distance calls to our phone account! STOP CALLING already!!!
We have all our phone numbers on the Canadian DNC list which seems to be a complete waste of time to use as we're still getting these ridiculous calls from companies we do not even do business with.
